Hello monkeyscroll readers! I just wanted to quickly highlight the games that I’ve added to my collection this month. A bit of fluff and a lot of fun. This month as I’ve added a ton of games that I never had the chance to play, so I grew my backlog by quite a bit. In fact, the only games I have played from this month’s pick-ups are Army Men Sarge’s Heroes and Tomb Raider.

At some point Army Men Sarge’s Heroes went missing from my collection, either from a move or from letting a friend borrow it, so I’m glad to have it back. It may not hold up to today’s standards of shooters, but I’ll never forget the fun times I had playing this game on the N64 growing up. Melting army men has never been more fun.

Next up are some Gameboy games. Both for the original Gameboy and the Gameboy Color.

MIB and Prince of Persia were super cheap so I picked them up for their namesakes. I don’t have high expectations for these games but I’ll keep an open mind and leave room to be surprised if they are actually good.

The Harry Potter and SpongeBob video game series have broken the “movie and tv show games are bad” rule, and have really been a lot of fun in my opinion. If I ever see any out in the wild I don’t hesitate to snag them.

Rampart has always been a favorite of mine, I have it for the NES, and the Sega Genesis so I figure why not the GB?

I played Army Men Sarge’s Heroes 2 on the N64 earlier this year and I understand that the Gameboy Color version is completely different, so I figured why not. Even if it’s terrible I’ll still be able to have some fun comparing the two games. You can read my write up on that here.

I can’t resist cheap Sega Genesis games, it’s a weakness. The 6-Pak includes a number of games I already own, but I don’t have Streets of Rage or Revenge of Shinobi so i’m happy to have that. The Incredible Hulk appears to be the exact kind of cheesy 90’s platformer that I love, and Mystic Defender looks like a weird mix up between an a platformer and a shoot em’ up? That will be fun to try out.

It’s difficult to display my Sega Genesis games because my collection is a mix between boxed games and loose carts, but that doesn’t stop me from getting the boxed copy if it’s available. I’ve never played Pitfall so i’m glad I found this.

The Xbox 360 is one of my favorite consoles to collect for at the moment. There are so many great games and the prices have stayed pretty low for the time being. Both of the games I picked up this month were mostly due to the popularity of the series despite not being very familiar with either of these games myself. I’ll be getting into both Rayman Origins and Resident Evil 6 sometime in the near future.

My playstation 2 pickups might seem underwhelming, but like I said earlier the SpongeBob games are pretty fun, better than they have any right to be, and i’ve never tried this one out. My current copy of The Hobbit is missing the cover art so I decided to upgrade that and get a complete version.

Last up I’ve got some sweet PlayStation 1 games. I’m a sucker for collection titles, and if the games on it are good, as they are in the Namco Museum 3, then i’m all the happier for it.

Tomb Raider was something I watched a friend play when I was younger so I’ll be getting to try this one out myself and get better familiarized with where the series began.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire is something I’ll be going into completely blind but I love the movie, so worst case scenario I just put this one down if it turns out to be a dud and watch the movie.

Crash Bandicoot 2 doesn’t have the greatest rating amongst the other titles in the franchise but I didn’t have it and PS1 games are getting more difficult to find at reasonable prices so easily convinced myself that it was worth grabbing now since it was relatively cheap.

Thanks for checking out my latest game pickups post, and keep an eye out for the next one if you enjoyed it. If you’d like to talk about any of the games mentioned or any games at all feel free to comment below, or hit me up on twitter or twitch!
